  • Kuvaus: A young shipowner, Alekos Vlastos, against the will of his mother who runs the family shipping firm, marries a poor girl, Rena, who won the title of Star Hellas. So, when the couple returns from their honeymoon, the mother-in-law loses no time at all and devises all sorts of tricks to separate them. She even goes to the extreme of blowing up one of their own ships, in which Rena’s brother, Petros, was the mechanic. With the help of a former boyfriend of Rena’s, Giorgos, who had dumped her because she decided to take part in beauty contests, she achieves her goal, but a remorseful Giorgos confesses the whole truth to Alekos. The conflict between mother and son reaches its peak when it is revealed that Mrs. Vlastou had paid a member of the crew to sabotage the ship. After this, Mrs. Vlastou goes out of her mind, but Rena won’t let her be locked away in an asylum. Because of this humane gesture, Alekos’ mother, in despair, finally recognizes her as her real daughter-in-law.
